Jeanne I. Davies October 5, 1926 - March 18, 2014
Jeanne I. Davies, age 87, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at her residence at Deaconess Towers in Faribault.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Jeanne Irene Chapple was born on October 5, 1926 in Ashland, WI, to John and Irene (McDonnell) Chapple. She graduated from Ashland High School and studied at the University of Minnesota. She married Francis T. Davies on February 24, 1945 in Milwaukee, WI. Following their marriage, they lived in Ashland and later settled in Faribault in 1954. They enjoyed cabin life at Madeline Island, Cannon Lake, and Pickerel Lake. Fran preceded her in death on August 25, 2004. Jeanne was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother for 68 years and for over 40 years was a volunteer religion teacher at the Faribault State Schools and the Rice County Day Activity Center. For a few years she was employed with the Faribault Daily News. She was an avid Cardinal fan and supporter of Bethlehem Academy athletics and fine art activities. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Our Lady of Victory Circle, a Befriender and an original volunteer at the Adoration Chapel. Jeanne was also involved as a volunteer for many organizations in the community, including the Rice County Historical Society. She had a great appreciation for fine arts, especially music. Jeanne enjoyed playing the piano and was inspirational to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to pursue their musical interests.

Davies of Duluth, MN, Jeffrey (& Mary Jane) Davies of Grand Rapids, MN, Joel (& Kate) Davies of Goodyear, AZ, Brian (& Julie) Davies of New Hope, PA, Barry (& Lori) Davies of Faribault and Fran (& Barb) Davies of Faribault, MN; by fifteen grandchildren, Jennifer O''Hara, Eric Harkins, Josh Davies, Caitlin Cudd, Ryan and Nathan Davies, Allison and Bennett Davies, Zack, Jake and Nick Davies, Max Davies, Luke, Molly and Annie Davies; by 13 great grandchildren, Erin O''Hara, Laurynn and Jack Harkins, Charlie, Dominic, Damien, Gemma, Declan, and Josephine Jeanne Cudd, Deyton and Wylie Davies, Lilian Angell, and Cecily Rose Davies; sister-in-law, Helen Chapple of Kirkland, Wash. and her children, Jack, Jeanne Alice, Joe, Paul, Clare and their families; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Francis Theophilus Davies; parents; sister, Alice (Tom) Boland; brother, John Chapple; and great granddaughter, Shannon O''Hara.
