Jeanne Marie Hofmeister

JEANNE MARIE HOFMEISTER, age 96, of Waseca passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Foxdale Memory Care.

Born on November 29, 1927, in Waseca, Jeanne was the daughter of Frank and Della (Johnson) Rohde. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Following her education Jeanne began working at Herters where she met Robert Hofmeister and they were later united in marriage on May 4, 1948, at Sacred Heart Church in Waseca. Together they made their home in Waseca while raising four children. Later in life, Jeanne worked at Viking Woodcraft. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, knitting, shopping, baking, reading, and following her grandchildren’s activities. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary and a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Blessed be her memory.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Gary (Janine) Hofmeister of Milwaukee, Randy (Angie) Hofmeister of Waseca, Jane (Paul Neigebauer) Hofmeister of Waseca, Marty Hofmeister of Waseca; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Zeev Haskal) Byrnes, Jamie (Matt) Payne, Kate (William James) Hofmeister, Jeffrey (Erica) Hofmeister, Abby (Pat) McClure, Ellie (Jon) Marchiori, Hannah Neigebauer (fiance, Bruce Harguth), and Nathan Hofmeister; ten great-grandchildren; brother, John Rohde of Waseca; and sister-in-law, Peggy Rohde of California; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Kay McClain, Joe Rohde, Jim Rohde, Pat Courtney, and Tom Rohde.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. A burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
