Janet E. Brown, age 76, of Faribault, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Piper''s Good Tidings in Faribault with her family by her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at the church

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Janet Elaine was born on October 24, 1937, in Minneapolis, MN to Ernest and Vivian (Riach) Henderson. She was raised mostly in Northfield by her mother and stepfather Herbert Stowe and graduated from Northfield High School in 1955. That was the year she met Patrick Brown and they were married on September 8, 1956 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Janet worked as the bookkeeper for Pat''s businesses, Brown Masonry and Bronco Builders. They were married for 51 years until Pat preceded her in death on May 31, 2008. In addition to being a tremendous influence with Pat''s business ventures, she was a talented artist. But above all, she cherished her family and time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Cathy) Brown of Apple Valley, MN, Colleen (Phillip) Anhorn of Faribault, and Thomas Brown of St. Paul; grandchildren, Shane DeGrood, Sheena (John) Murphy, Luke Brown, Daniel Brown, Caitlin Brown, and Mikelle Brown; great grandchildren, Austin and Mason DeGrood, Gavin Murphy, and one great grandchild on the way; siblings, Carmen (Ralph) Boyd of Dundas, Jim (Faye) Stowe of Northfield, and Linda (Richard) Fink of Warsaw; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick; parents; a son in infancy; and sister, Bonnie Johnson.
