JAN MARIE BELAL, age 58 of Waseca, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.  
Graveside services for Jan were originally planned for Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.  At the familys request, that service will be postponed until September 2015, with a specific date and time to be announced later. 
Born in Waseca on December 18, 1956, Jan was the daughter of Stanley and Evelyn (Powell) Broughton.  She attended school in Waseca before earning her associates degree in child development in Brainerd, Minnesota.  Following her education, Jan worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company before beginning her career with Brown Printing in Waseca.  Jan was married to Ahmed Belal in Waseca on October 25, 2002.  They continued to live and work in Waseca until her health forced her to retire in 2007.  Jan loved to travel and visit area casinos, but more than anything she enjoyed spending time with her ten grandchildren.
Jan is survived by her husband Ahmed of Waseca; three children, Sara (Jason) Muellerleile of Morristown, Trevor (Lisa) Lambkins of Tulsa, OK, and Alyssa (Nic) DeMers of Zimmerman; ten beloved grandchildren; and three siblings, Dennis Broughton of Waseca, Julie (Terry) Ziemke of Waseca, and Pam (Butch) Bartelt of Waseca.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; and one granddaughter, Amyah Lambkins.
Memorial donations may be directed to Infants Remembered in Silence (IRIS) in Faribault, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Minnesota.
