JAMES K. KILLDAY, age 83, of Waseca passed away on October 5, 2022, at Colony Court in Waseca, MN.
James was born to Earl and Ruth Killday (DeBourd) on April 27, 1939, in Waldorf, MN. He graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School where he was the star halfback. Following his education, he owned and operated a gas station in Waseca for many years. James went on to work for many car dealerships around Southern Minnesota for over 35 years. On July 2, 1960, he was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Campbell at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. They were the love of each other’s lives before Sharon’s passing in 2012. James enjoyed spending his free time fishing, boating, woodworking, and working on cars. He was a handyman who was always helping others with home improvement projects. He was the one to count on when you needed a hand with anything. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his son, Timothy (Jill) Killday of Waseca; by his daughters, Val (Mila) Killday of Waseca, and Jamie Killday (Nancy Danielson) of Prior Lake; by his grandson, Joel (Ashley) Killday of Waseca; great-grandchildren, Trae Killday and Aspen, who is on the way; step-grandchildren, Carrie (Patrick) Shouts, Casey (Macey) Mingo and Cayla Mingo, Dennis, Chris and Lynn Danielson all of the Twin Cities; niece, Kathy Eckhart; nephew, Doug Gerdts; and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jackie Imbimbo; special friend and soulmate, Sharon.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday, October 10, 2022 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service.
