JAMES JOSEPH SALEDA, age 59, of Janesville, died on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Born on July 28, 1962, in Chelsea, Massachusetts to Francis and Theresa (Regan) Saleda. He attended Tri County Regional High School in Franklin, Massachusetts, graduating with the class of 1980. Following his education, he enlisted in the United State Navy and was honorably discharged in 1993. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Jim enlisted in the United States National Guard serving until his honorable discharge in 2006. During his time with the National Guard, he was deployed to Iraq where he served from 2003 – 2005 and received the Bronze Star.

On November 12, 1988, Jim was united in marriage to Tonya Jackson in Reno, Nevada. Together they lived in Oakland, California where Jim was employed by the Oakland Housing Authority and Oakland Police Department for 20 years. Following his retirement from the Police Department, they moved to Janesville, Minnesota where Jim worked as the Jail Administrator for Blue Earth County.

Jim enjoyed collecting vintage toys, watching classic movies, and homebrewing. He deeply loved his family and friends and in return he was deeply loved by all who ever knew him. Jim was proud of his service to the military and police force. He was a true warrior and hero in every sense of the word. He was a hard worker who always put his family first. Jim was so proud of his children, his daughter-in-law and grandson. He sorely missed his son in heaven and could not wait to meet his soon to be born granddaughter. Jim is loved and will be missed by all. Rest easy Jim, until we meet again.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Tonya of Janesville; son, James (Mayra) Saleda of Fairfield, CA; daughter, Emily Saleda of Janesville; grandson, Jameson Saleda and granddaughter on the way, Isabella Saleda.
