James 'Jim' Cerney November 1, 1929 - November 12, 2012

James "Jim" Cerney, age 83, of Faribault, died Monday, November 12, 2012 at the St. Mary''s Hospital in Rochester following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault, officiating. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday for one hour prior to services.

James Eugene Cerney, the son of John and Evelyn (Curney) Cerney, was born on November 1, 1929 in Cook County near Chicago, Illinois. He later moved to Minnesota and became involved with Cenneidigh Group Homes in Faribault in 1969 and has considered them all his family ever since. James enjoyed working at the Rice County Day Activity Center, watching the Wheel of Fortune and Price Is Right, playing board games, cards and any outing with his friends.

He is survived by his friends and family at Cenneidigh Group Homes in Faribault.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Roy.
