JAMES “JIM” CURTIS SPLETT, age 62 of rural Cleveland died peacefully at home on September 16, 2022. He fought a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born on January 8, 1960 in Faribault, Minnesota, he was the son of Melvin and Kathleen (Biggins) Splett. On August 26, 2000, Jim was united in marriage to Tessie Shoultz and together they made their home in rural Cleveland.
Jim attended Waterville-Elysian-Morristown School and enjoyed sports during high school. He was an avid sportsman and was a wonderful gardener and wine maker. He also loved attending auctions and collected many antiques.
After high school, Jim attended trade school in Mankato for welding. He joined the carpenter’s union and worked for many years before retirement in 2021.
Jim is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tessie and his beloved dog, Molly. He is also survived by siblings, Tom and Becky Splett, Dan Splett, Patty Schumacher, Terry and Kim Splett, Joe and Julie Splett, Mary and Mark Opsahl, Kris and Daryl Erdman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Splett and sister, Barbara Splett.
A short blessing will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery on October 16, 2022 at 3:00 PM and a Celebration of Life will be held immediately following at the Elysian Main Street Venue. All are welcome.
