Jackie Melchert July 26, 1964 - November 16, 2009

Jacqueline "Jackie" (LaCanne) Melchert, age 45 of Morristown, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2009 at her home with her family at her side following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in North Morristown, with Rev. Gregg Pavelski, officiating. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Jacqueline Marie LaCanne, the daughter of David Sr. and Margaret (Gekeler) LaCanne, was born on July 26, 1964 in New Prague, MN. She graduated from Morristown High School. She married Craig Melchert on October 17, 1987 at the St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny. Jackie worked for Brown Printing in Waseca, Sheldahl in Northfield, and KGP in Faribault. In 1993 she graduated from Riverland Technical College in Faribault with an Associates Degree in accounting and worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for the last 15 years with LaCanne''s Marine in Faribault. She also was accountant and bookkeeper for the family business with Craig and her brother''s business. Jackie enjoyed shopping, gardening, crafting and scrapbooking. She loved being with her children and surrounding babies, spending time with her family and friends, watching her children play sports, traveling, camping, and vacationing. She is survived by her husband, Craig of Morristown; children, Cherea Melchert (and Ryan Knish) of Waterville and their expecting baby, Cara Melchert of Mankato, and Chad Melchert (and friend, Christa Kahnke) of Mankato; father, David LaCanne Sr. (and friend, Pam Miller) of Morristown; sisters, Brenda LaCanne of Morristown and Christine (Dale) Melchert of Morristown; brother, David LaCanne Jr. (and friend, Angela Michels) of Morristown; paternal grandmother, Frances LaCanne of Morristown; father and mother-in-law, Ron and Pat Melchert of Morristown; brother-in-law, Jerry (Pam) Melchert of Faribault; sisters-in-law, Tammy Melchert (and friend, Brian Zeiske) of Kasota, MN, Pam (Steve) Saxon of Noblesville, IN, and Brenda (Lance) Monroe of Morristown; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret LaCanne; niece, Jacqueline LaCanne; aunt, Theresa Velishek; paternal grandfather, Raymond LaCanne Sr.; and maternal grandparents, Harry and Audrey Gekeler. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
