Ivory Raymond Abbe

IVORY RAYMOND ABBE, age 97, of Elysian, died on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Born on August 15, 1924, in Janesville Township, Waseca County, Minnesota. He was one of nine children born to William and Emma (Kabnick) Abbe. Ivory attended country school through 6th grade, staying home to help on the farm. Ivory was united in marriage to Beverly Weilage and they spent many years together before divorcing. He began his career working construction before beginning a 30 year career with Dotson in Mankato. Ivory enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting, especially for mushrooms.

Ivory is survived by his two children: Cheryl (Darryl) Burnett of Madison Lake, and Mark Abbe of Waterville; grandchildren: Ivory (Jim) Fischer and Marshall (Nikki) Halbach; great grandchildren: Andy (Ashley) Douglas, Carter and Gabe Halbach; great-great grandchildren: Brayden and Oakley Douglas; brother, Art Abbe of Waterville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

Private family interment will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian.
