Ivan Theodore Flitter

IVAN THEODORE FLITTER, age 85 of Elysian, died on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Born in Waseca on July 4, 1936, Ivan was the son of Ewald and Clara (Schuldt) Flitter. He attended school in Janesville before serving his country in the United States Army. On September 6, 1974 Ivan was married to Sandra Carson in Morristown, Minnesota. He worked for the railroad for many years, living in California, Tucson, AZ, and El Paso, TX before retiring in 2001 and returning to Minnesota in 2006. As a young man he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending Lutheran church services.

Ivan is survived by his wife, Sandra of Elysian; one daughter, Michelle Rousseau of Elysian, three grandchildren; and one brother, Delfon Flitter of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Ervin, Orville, Marvin, and Kenneth Flitter.

A private interment service will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in the spring.
