Irma Flitter, 87 year old resident of Freedom Township, Waseca County, Minnesota, died happy and peacefully on Thursday afternoon, January 18, 2018 at her residence in Freedom Township.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 am on TUESDAY, January 23, 2018 at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Alma City with Rev. Keith Bilitz, officiating. Burial will be in Alma City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Alma City and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on TUESDAY.

Irma Irene was born on October 6, 1930, to Herman and Irene (Klampe) Thralow in Mankato. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth all at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Alma City where she was has been a lifelong member. She graduated from Waldorf High School with the Class of 1948. Following her education she worked as a waitress at the Pheasant Caf in Waseca where she met the love of her life, Vern Flitter. They were later married on December 16, 1950, at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Alma City and resided on the family farm. Irma taught Sunday school and was an active member of Ladies Aid and the Church Choir.
Irma is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Vern; her four children: Charles (Virginia) of Pemberton, Sandra (Arlyn) Treanor of Minnesota Lake, Randall (Marian) of Groton, SD, Ramona (Daniel) Zihlke of St. Peter; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Irene Decker; two brothers-in-law: David (Cindy) Flitter and Louis Marzinske; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother in infancy, sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a grandson in infancy.
