Ilona Lutgens

ILONA “ILI” LUTGENS, age 78 of Waseca, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022.

Born in Hungary on April 17, 1944, Ilona was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Kollath. Her family immigrated to the United States when Ili was 12 years old, and together they all settled in Minneapolis. She attended St. Margaret’s Catholic School before attending business school. Ili was married to Larry Dukes and they had two girls before their divorce. On September 21, 1996 she was united in marriage to Larry Lutgens in Waseca. Ilona was a fantastic cook and baker, and Larry believes she could have worked in any kitchen, in any restaurant, anywhere. She continues to be greatly loved and will be sorely missed.

Ilona is survived by her husband, Larry Lutgens of Waseca; two daughters, Lisa Dukes of Minneapolis and Aimie Dukes of Waikiki, HI; one brother, Arpad Kollath; and other special family members on both her and Larry’s side of their family. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.
