Ilene Singlestad, age 91, of Waseca died peacefully on Friday morning, October 5, 2018, at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, with a visitation for two hours prior to the service at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Cary Larson, officiating. Interment will be in Woodville Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to donors choice.

Ilene Edith was born on January 5, 1927, in Waseca to Edwin and Ida (Geske) Kelm. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith in her youth at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca. Ilene grew up in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School in 1945. She furthered her education at Mankato Commercial College. While attending school in Mankato she met Gebhard Singlestad and they were later united in marriage at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca on November 9, 1947. Together they made their home on a farm in Iosco Township. In 1963, they moved to the Singlestad family farm in Woodville township where they continued to raise their four children. Ilene and Geb shared 67 years of marriage before Geb passed away on February 11, 2015.
Ilene began her working career in Minneapolis for Northrup King and later for EF Johnson and Birds Eye. She enjoyed helping on the farm where she had a variety of farm jobs from driving tractor to grain truck to feeding cattle, sheep and chickens and an occasional horse that got out. In her spare time she enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, and canning her produce. She was very active as a leader of the Palmer Sunbeams 4-H Club for many years, she was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed volunteering at Grace Lutheran Church as a Sunday School Teacher, and on various committees, helping serve many church dinners, where she was known for her egg coffee. Ilene enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and collecting purple dishware. Above all else she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her entire family. She will be dearly missed.
Ilene is survived by her children: Shirley (Jerry) Wagner of Black River Falls, WI, Scott (Vicky) Singlestad of Waseca, Sharon (T. Scott) Barnhart of La Crosse, WI, and Sue Singlestad of Eden Prairie; grandchildren: Paula (J.R.) Augustine, Amy (Clint) Johnson, Brandon (Mindy) Wagner, Holly (Travis) Meimann, Michelle (Craig) Baxter, Mike Singlestad, Kristy (Nick) Baumann, Sarah (Dave) Burnham, and Nicole (Joe) Loeffelholz; 22 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother.
