Herman R. Kopischke October 14, 1928 - October 16, 2012
Herman R. Kopischke, age 84 of Janesville, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20th at 11:00 A.M. at St. John''s Ev. Lutheran Church in Alma City with Rev. Keith Bilitz, officiating. Interment will be in the Alma City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9 to 11:00 A.M., prior to services, at church. Arrangements are being completed by Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville.
Herman Reinhold was born on October 14, 1928 to Herman and Laura (Werdin) Kopischke in Mankato, Minnesota. He was baptized on November 14, 1928 by Rev. Polzin at his home, and confirmed on May 24, 1942 by Rev. E. Schaler at St. John''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City. On September 5, 1962 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Born at Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church in Waseca, by Rev. E. Schendel. Herman was a lifelong farmer; he and Mary Ann resided on their Alton Township farm their entire married life. Herman served for over 50 years as a member of the board of directors and past president for Mid-State Mutual Insurance Company in Waseca. He was a lifelong member of St. John''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City. Herman was an amateur radio enthusiast, holding the call sign, "WOTCK". He also enjoyed flying his airplane, motorcycling, snowmobiling and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann of rural Janesville; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Casketbearers are: James Ewendt, Gary Mulcahy, Dean Born, Raymond Schelhaas, Daniel Hedtke, and Jerry Froehlich.
