Helen Otto July 31, 1918 - September 26, 2008
Helen Otto, age 90, of Faribault, died Friday, September 26, 2008 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the River Valley Church in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault. Helen Liola Odette Froslie, the daughter of Oliver and Anna (Tollum) Froslie, was born on July 31, 1918 in Breckenridge, MN. On June 21, 1955 she was united in marriage to Albert H. Otto in Clinton, IA. Mr. Otto preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1979. After their marriage, Helen worked for over 20 years as the elevator operator at the Security National Bank Building. Helen also worked part time as a greeter at Kmart and HyVee. Helen was very active with the Salvation Army and devoted herself and many hours to helping others all of her life. Helen enjoyed fishing and spending time at their cabin in Outing, MN. She also enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends. Helen wrote her own songs and played the guitar at her church. She was a member of the Salvation Army and SEMCAC. She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Terry) Wilkowske of Farmington, MN and by two grandchildren, Monty and Emily Melchert. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Herbie and Gordon Frosli
