Helen M. Born

Helen Margaret Born, age 95 of Janesville, MN, died peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Janesville Nursing Home. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Janesville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Kathy King officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Janesville Cemetery.
Helen was born on February 21, 1924 to John and Selma (Kotz) Kiner in Janesville. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1942, and Hamline University in 1946 with a teaching degree in business education. She taught in Truman, St. James, and Cloquet schools. On June 26, 1954 she married Lyle W. Born at the Janesville United Methodist Church.
Helen enjoyed reading, art, and music. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Helens faith was a very important part of her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Mark) Bartelt and Nancy (Lane) Hartfiel both of Janesville; grandchildren, Matthew Bartelt, Megan (Brad) Yetzer, Brett Bartelt, John Hartfiel and Sam Hartfiel; great-grandchildren, Olivia Hartfiel and Parker Yetzer; brother, Dr. Tom (Dorothy) Kiner; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kiner; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle; brothers, James and John Kiner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold Born, Vern (Kitty) Born, Vic (Margaret) Born and Ervin (Joyce) Born.
