Helen Hoehn, age 94, of Waseca formerly of rural Janesville, joined her husband Linus on Monday morning, July 8, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Friday, July 12, at Church of St. Ann in Janesville with Fr. Antony Arokiyam as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Ann Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Thursday, July 11, at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Service ~ Arnoldt Chapel of Janesville and continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Memorials are preferred to St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.
Helen (Glynn) Hoehn was born on February 8, 1925, in Waseca to Dennis and Gertrude (Kaiser) Glynn. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Waseca, graduating with the class of 1943. Following her education, she worked at Valley News in Mankato. On May 20, 1948, Helen was united in marriage to her soul mate, Linus Hoehn at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Together they made their home in rural Janesville and were blessed with five children. Together they shared 69 years of marriage before Linus passed away in February of 2018.
Helens faith was a very important part of her life. She always made time for the rosary every day. Helen and Linus also prayed once a week for adoration. She was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville where she was active in CCW and sewing quilts. Helen volunteered for Life Line for many years, helped with Home Delivered Meals and was long time member of the Red Hat Society. She was a huge Minnesota Twins fan and never missed a game if she could help it. Helen loved her flower gardens and had numerous beautiful flowers. Blessed be her memory.
Helen is survived by her children: Ron (special friend Eunice) Hoehn of Courtland, Rick (Connie) Hoehn of Janesville, Randy (Roberta Brown Root) Hoehn of Seattle, WA, Rob (Kristin) Hoehn of Mankato, and Kris Hoehn of Waseca; grandchildren: Teddy (Kaitlyn) Hoehn, Katie Hoehn, Tom Hoehn, Kim (Kasey) Brown, Nathaniel (Nicole) Root, Adam Root, Elisabeth (Rian Kjolso) Root, Emily Hoehn, Jacob (Carolyn) Hoehn, Ashley (Truc) Tran, Tanner (special friend, Kaley) Barbknecht, Tiffany (Taylor) Klugherz; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Jeanne Schissel; sisters-in-law, Harriet Hartman and Lorraine Glynn; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Linus, two brothers: Rev. Francis Glynn and Leo Glynn; two sisters: Lucille Doss and Gerri Brooks; an infant sister, Catherine; brothers-in-law: Dave Schissel, Ray Brooks, Allen Doss, and peter (Buster) Hartman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Olivia (Herb) Melchior, Marcella (Ed) Galles, Loretta (Don) Prehn, Phylis Hoehn, Cletus (Alice) Hoehn and Titus (Gladys) Hoehn; daughter-in-law: Sue Hoehn.
