Helen Anderson
HELEN MARGARET ANDERSON, affectionately known as, "Grandma Helen" age 92 of Waseca, entered the Kingdom of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 30, 2017, after peacefully passing away at the Janesville Nursing Home.
Born on November 26, 1924 in Alden, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Daniel and Julia (Babcock) Hall. She was a 1943 graduate of Waseca High School. On May 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to Burton Anderson in Kasson, MN. They were active members of the Waseca community where they raised their family.
Helen was the epitome of service above self. She served her community and her church faithfully, setting an example of volunteerism for all to follow. She served on the Waseca hospital auxiliary, TeleCare, was an election judge for over fifty years, a pen pal through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), served as a mentor to students through school and church programs, sang in the church choir, led church circle and bible study groups and was a more than fifty-year Avon cosmetics representative.
Helen enjoyed playing bridge and numerous other card games, collecting antiques, hosting coffee parties and most importantly, spending time with her many friends and family. She expressed her love in action by visiting those who needed it, running errands for people, baking treats, and organizing neighborhood picnics. She will be deeply missed by her large circle of friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Barb (George) Klosinski of Northfield; sons, Don (Cindy) Anderson of Boise, ID; Steve (Jean) Anderson of Waseca; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, husband, Burt and son, Mark.
