HAZEL LEONA HENKENSIEFKEN, age 98 of Waseca died on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
Born on February 10, 1918 in Le Sueur, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Albert and Nellie (Beveans) Michael.  Hazel attended school in Morristown and married Harry Henkensiefken on October 20, 1937 at the Methodist church in Morristown.  She worked for a small café in Waseca and then went on to work in quality control at Birds Eye.  She later worked at Brown Printing until her retirement.   Hazel lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Colleen for several years until her declining health forced her to move to Lake Shore Inn.  Hazel was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca where she did volunteer work.  She enjoyed bird watching, working in the flower garden, crocheting, knitting, and playing scrabble.   She also enjoyed making cookies with her grandchildren. 
Hazel is survived by one son, Larry (Colleen) Henkensiefken of Waseca; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Joel; and one sister, Mildred Daws.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca.  Visitation will be held on Friday, one hour before services at the funeral home.
