Harvey Mittelsteadt age 90, of Blue Earth, formerly of Waseca died peacefully on Monday evening, October 30, 2017 at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. David Baumgarn, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Johns Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Harvey Mittelsteadt was born in Iosco Township on May 7, 1927 to William and Charlotte (Stoering) Mittelsteadt. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Iosco Township. Upon graduation from Janesville High School he enlisted in the United States Army, serving overseas from 1946 1948. When he was honorably discharged from the military, he worked at Webb Oil Company of Waseca.
After his marriage to Naomi Treiber, July 23, 1950, they made their home in Waseca until 1954 when they moved to Winnebago, Minnesota where he owned and operated "Harveys North Star Truck Stop" for 22 years, retiring in 1976.
Following his retirement, Harvey and Naomi moved to Lake Tetonka in Waterville. Together they spent much time traveling and visiting churches, advocating for Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown, Wisconsin where he served on the board of directors for nine years. He also spent many years in retirement working and volunteering at Camp Omega in Waterville.
In 1988, they moved to Waseca where they were faithful members of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Harvey lived his faith and cherished his family. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and in his free time enjoyed reading. In 2009, Harvey lost the love of his life. Together, Harvey and Naomi shared 59 years of marriage. Since 2014, Harvey has been a resident at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth where he made many new friends and was reacquainted with past friends. He was crowned king of St. Lukes in 2015.

He is survived by his three daughters; Debra (Roger) Moore of Huxley, IA, Kathi (Robert) Seitz of St. Cloud, Lori (James) Nauman of Blue Earth; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Nadine Scheffert; three nieces and two nephews; several step grandchildren and step greatgrandchildren.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Gordon Mittelsteadt; brother-in-law, Ivan Scheffert; sister-in-law, Edna Mittelsteadt.
