Born on December 2, 1938 in Larium, Michigan, he was the son of Harold and Nina (Seaton) Burt. Bernie went by his middle name as his dad was also a Harold. He was the 3rd child of eight and grew up on a dairy farm in Marshall, MN. His family moved to Nicollet, MN where he finished high school and was Vice-President of his class of 1957. He loved spending time with his wife, Marie and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bernie enjoyed his three Arabian horses, golfing, bowling, playing softball and coaching girls’ softball. He was also an artist and enjoyed oil painting and sketching. Bernie was a past member of the Waseca Eagles and the Plainview Jaycees.
