GUDMUND HENRY NODLAND, age 81 of Waseca, died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the New Richland Care Center.
Born on July 16, 1934 in Owatonna, Minnesota, he was the son of Gudmund and Otillia (Malakowsky) Nodland. He graduated from New Richland High School in 1952. He worked his entire life as a farmer in Waseca/Steele Counties. Gudmund married Ethel Helms on June 26, 1965 in Waseca. Through the years, he enjoyed travel, cards, basketball, volleyball, and ping pong. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca and the Farmers Union.
Gudmund is survived by his wife Ethel of Waseca; three children, Mark
(Joy Walker) Nodland of Eau Claire, WI, Ellen (Bill) Piepgras of Oakdale and Brad (Sonja) Nodland of Eden Prairie and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce Brase.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2015, 4-7 PM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, Waseca. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
