Gordon Chappuis December 10, 1940 - June 23, 2008

Gordon "Bud" Chappuis, age 67 of Faribault, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008 at his home in Shieldsville Township surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Shieldsville. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to services. Memorials may be directed to the choice of the donor. Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault. Gordon Alfred Chappuis, the son of Alfred and Ellen (Chavie) Chappuis, was born on December 10, 1940 on his family''s farm in Shieldsville Township, Rice County. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1959. He was married to Janice Dienst on October 12, 1963 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. Bud was a lifelong farmer on the family homestead in Shieldsville, which has been a part of his family for five generations. He is survived by his wife, Janice; 12 children, Loren (Amy) Chappuis of Faribault, Mary (Mark) Johannes of Cold Spring, Lee (Deb) Chappuis of Faribault, Connie (Ken) Johnson of Cold Spring, June Chappuis (significant other, Tony) of Faribault, Lance Chappuis (significant other, Cassie Fitzpatrick) of Faribault, Amy Chappuis of Faribault, Tim (Laurie) Chappuis of Faribault, Jody (Andy) Mathews of Faribault, Christina Berge (significant other, Josh Kalina) of Faribault, Ann Chappuis (significant other Jeremy Brown) of Faribault, and Jan Chappuis (significant other, David Simones) of St. Cloud; 26 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; two sisters, Connie Lockwood of Grand Ronde, Oregon and Joann (Harry) Barry of Corona, CA; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maxine Stanton; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Chappuis.
