GLORIA M. POSSEHL, age 89 of Waseca, died on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
Born on August 23, 1926 in Montevideo, Minnesota, she was the daughter of William and Emma (Skahl) Knudson.  She attended school in rural Waseca County.  On November 29, 1945 she married Walter Possehl at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Meriden.  She worked at E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca a few years.  Gloria was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, quilting club and church circle.  In addition, she had been a long time member of the Waseca VFW Auxiliary.  Gloria enjoyed family, gardening, crocheting, embroidering, traveling, puzzles and games.
Gloria is survived by seven children, Paulette (Paul) Born of Waseca, Marty (Colleen) Possehl of Claremont, Chuck (Janet) Possehl of Waseca, Richard (Val) Possehl of Waseca, Bruce Possehl of Waseca, Barbara (Rich) Papinski of Waseca, and Diane (Jerry) Roeker of Smiths Mill; 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Phyllis Nelson of New Richland, Florence Possehl of Albert Lea, and Helen Weckwerth of Waseca; and brother, Robert (Rosalie) Brodin of Windom.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters-Ruth, Gladys, Bernice, Olive and Arlene, and one brother-Charles.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 4-8 PM and continue on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. John Omans officiating.  Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
A special thank you to the staff at Lake Shore Inn for their care over the past several years.
In lieu of flowers, puzzles and childrens games given to the family will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House and VA Hospital.
