Gloria Gottschalk March 26, 1928 - August 2, 2008
Gloria D. Gottschalk, age 80 of rural Janesville, died on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin officiating. Interment will be in the St. John''s-Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township, Waseca County, Minnesota. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Wednesday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. Gloria Doris was born on March 26, 1928 to Albert and Lydia (Fell) Buker in Waseca, Minnesota. She was baptized on April 22, 1928 by Rev. George H. Ollmer at St. John''s Lutheran Church in Waseca. Gloria attended Woodville Township Country School, Waseca County. On August 29, 1952 she was united in marriage to Loren W. Gottschalk at St. John''s Lutheran Church in Waseca. Gloria was a homemaker and farmed with her husband Loren in Alton Township, Waseca County, and was also a seasonal employee for Birdseye in Waseca for many years. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Dorcas Society. Gloria enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing cards and games with her grandchildren, and time spent with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Loren of Janesville; by her three sons, Wayne (Carolyn Grams) Gottschalk of Janesville, Ken Gottschalk and special friend Chris Schultz of Waseca and Allen (Joy) Gottschalk of Waseca; by two daughters Dorean (John) Ball of Brookings, SD and Lori (Bryan) Larson of Waseca; by fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; by two sisters, Shirley Frederick and Delores Buker both of Mesa, AZ; by nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew.
