Glenn Carl Koplen was born on July 12, 1926, to Carl and Clara (Fratzke) Koplen in Freedom Township, Waseca County, Minnesota. He attended Bunker Hill Country School in Freedom Township and following his education he began working on the farm. In 1946, Glenn enlisted into the United States Army where he was stationed in the Pacific after WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1947, returning to his home in Alma City. In October of 1951, Glenn met the love of his life, Delsie Dehn, at a dance and two months later they were united in marriage on December 2, 1951 at St. Peter "Bell" Lutheran Church in rural Le Sueur County.

Glenn and Delsie raised their family in Alma City. Glenn was a hard working farmer, continuing to farm well into his 80s along side his son Clark. He was never one to slow down, he stayed busy working at Hoffman Implement in Pemberton for many winters, driving truck, doing custom work for his many neighbors, and always willing to drop what he was doing to help someone out. Glenn was a lifelong faithful member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and going to dances with Delsie. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Delsie; his two sons: Jeffery (Susan) of Owatonna and their children: Curtis of St. Louis, MO, and David of Owatonna; and Clark (Brenda) of Janesville and their daughter Kelly of Janesville; sister, Lois Cahill of St. Paul; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three siblings: Armilla (Arlo) Anton, Wallace (Katherine) Koplen, and Betty (Curtis) Bjornson; brother-in-law, Ed Cahill and sisters-in-law: Alice (Les) Becker and Ethel (Walt) Springer.
