GLEN CHARLES MORRIS, age 89 of Waterville, passed away at his home on the morning of Sunday, September 18, 2022.
Born in Medo Township, Blue Earth County on March 28, 1933, Glen was the son of Mike and Charlotte (Bentley) Morris. He attended school in Elysian while he was young. On June 9, 1954 he was married to Velma Bluhm at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Waterville. Glen served his country in the United States Army and he and his wife moved to Texas while he was enlisted. Following his honorable discharge, they returned to southern Minnesota. Glen and Velma raised their three boys in Waseca. He worked at H&S Logging for 24 years before owning and operating his own business, Glen Morris Excavating, until his retirement.
Glen built many wooden items for his grandchildren such as toy boxes, bird houses, and lighthouses. Over the years he taught his three sons how to build and work with wood and metal, and how to fix just about anything… what a wonderful tribute to his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing at Leech Lake and other points up north, four-wheeling and camping with family and friends, and he was known as loving Grandfather to the Owatonna Scuba Diving Club. His grandchildren loved hearing the many stories about his life events.
Glen is survived by three sons, Chuck (Melodie) Morris of Faribault, Bradley Morris of Waseca, and Bruce (Brenda) Morris of Waseca; five grandchildren; and three siblings, Gene Morris of Waterville, Everilde Wittrock of Mankato, and Darlene Guimond of Elgin. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and one sister, Alice.
