Gertrude I. Christianson August 11, 1920 - December 29, 2012

Gertrude I. Christianson, age 92, of Faribault, died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the District One Hospital in Faribault following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault, with Rev. Eugene Chase, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Morristown, officiating. Interment will be at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Durand, WI.

Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gertrude Irene Christianson, the daughter of Carl and Bessie Louise (Yarrington) Christianson, was born on August 11, 1920 in Minneapolis, MN. She was a resident at the Faribault Regional Center since she was 5 years old until 1998 when she moved MSOCS home in Morristown. Even though she had many medical disabilities, Gertrude was a happy person, always having a smile on her face.

She is survived by a cousin, Irene Odegard of New Brighton; and the staff and residents at the MSOCS home in Morristown.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
