Gerald Mason

Gerald "Jerry" Earl Mason, passed away on July 4, 2024, at Hillcrest Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mankato, Minnesota, after battling complications of cancer.

 Born on July 14, 1950 in Spencer, Iowa, Jerry was the son of Phoebe (Giles) and Donald Mason. He grew up in Ruthven and graduated from Ruthven High School. Jerry served his country in the Army and Army National Guard, where he was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. 

Jerry had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising black lab dogs. In his later years, he resided in Waterville, Minnesota, where he spent time with his Wednesday friend group.

 Jerry is survived by a daughter, Angela, and son, Don; two granddaughters; six siblings; and friends Joe Scramm and Tom Whipple, who stood by him until the very end. He is also remembered by three ex-wives.
