Georgia Peterson

Georgia Peterson, age 95, of Waseca went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She was born in rural Corydon, Iowa to Myra (Garber) and Calvin Ryan on December 1, 1928.

Because of her love for God and His Word, Georgia was deeply involved in Vista Covenant Church. She was an avid reader and a life-long learner who always kept up on current issues. Most of all, she loved to read and study her Bible. She faithfully prayed for family members and friends. Georgia loved people and maintained countless enduring friendships throughout her life.

Georgia is welcomed to her Heavenly Home by the following who preceded her in death: her husband Gordon; her parents; her brothers and their spouses: Burwell (Betty), Lewis (Opal), Chester (Janice), Ira (Barbara) and Robert; her sister, Ruby Ryan and her brother-in-law, Gerhard Friesen.

Georgia is survived by Gordon’s children: Marilyn (Dan) Zeman, Bruce (Laurie) Peterson and Lynette (Mark) Mullaney; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Roselyn Friesen and numerous nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Vista Covenant Church, (14679 275th Avenue, New Richland, MN 56072), with Rev. Brian Schanil officiating. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church on Wednesday.
