GEORGE BERNARD HARTY, age 57 of Waseca, died on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Aberdeen, SD on April 16, 1964, George was the son of LeRoy and Theresa (Feist) Harty. He attended school in Aberdeen as a boy before moving to Waseca where he attended Waseca High School. Over the years George worked as a mechanic around Waseca. Most recently he owned and operated George’s Cars on Waseca’s south side. George was a kind, compassionate man, rough on the outside but forever soft on the inside. He was a man of many talents who could help family fix their cars over the phone, cook nearly anything, and loved to spend time with his family and friends. George was always calm and collected, loved children and babies, had the best laugh (and the best sneezes), put ketchup on nearly everything, and had a particular soft spot for his beloved shih-tzus. He will be dearly missed.
George is survived by his wife, Erin of Waseca; six children, Wyett Harty and his fiancé Brittany of Waseca, Whitney Wilder of Walters, Weston (Jamie) Harty of Alden, Kaitlyn Androli of Waseca, Noah Androli of Waseca, and Jacob Harty of Waseca; fourteen grandchildren; countless nieces and nephews; five siblings, Mary (Richard Raimann) DeCory of Wells, LeRoy (Debra Vrieze) Harty of Waseca, Brian (Mary) Harty of Waseca, Chuck (Amber) Harty of Waseca, and Russell Harty of Waseca. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Summer; and one brother-in-law, Tim DeCory.
A public visitation will be held from 4-8PM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the State Street Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca.
