Frances Elaine (Wales) Markey age 97, of Waseca, (formerly of Minneapolis), passed away on 11/1/15 at Lake Shore Inn, Waseca MN.
Frances was born June 23, 1918 in Minneapolis, second of 9 children.  She married Stanley Markey, June 22, 1940 and recently celebrated 75 years of marriage. They lived in Minneapolis most of that time until 2006 when they moved to assisted living in Waseca. In 2008 Frances moved to Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home, Waseca.
She loved knitting, needlework, quilting, and singing. Fran won many state fair ribbons for her work. She enjoyed meeting with many friends at club meetings of MerriMacs, Monday Club, Needlework Guild, Minnesota Quilters, and traveling to craftwork seminars at many major cities of the U.S. and Hawaii. She also enjoyed many years of monthly gatherings of Kenney Mothersingers.
Survived by husband Stanley (Waseca, MN); daughters Marilyn (John) Teskey, Waseca, Janice (Ron) Hoppmann, Charleston, SC, and Julie (Pat) Pyle of Los Angeles, CA; sons John of Bloomington, MN and Bruce of Burlingame, CA; grandchildren Mark (Heather) Teskey, Edina, Jay (Chris)Teskey, Blue Earth, Jacqie (Dan) Lind, St Louis Park, Carl (Becky) Hoppmann, Charleston SC, Patrick (Jenn) Pyle, Torrance CA, Anne Pyle, CA, and James Pyle, TX; twelve great- grandchildren; two brothers - Marvin Wales (Cincinnati) and Roger Wales (Marquette, MI). She was preceded in death by parents, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 Wednesday, November 4th at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services, Waseca. Services will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, on Thursday, November 5th at 12:00 PM with burial to follow.
