Eyleen Patricia Hasselquist

Eyleen Patricia Hasselquist, age 97 of Waseca, died on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on May 27, 1924, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Charles F. and Emma (Hasse) Seavey. Eyleen grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from West High School in 1942. After graduation she worked in San Francisco and Minneapolis.

She married Philip Hasselquist on June 6, 1951 in Minneapolis. After marriage, they made their home in Almelund where Phil farmed until 1953 when they moved to Waseca and he became co-owner of Hasselquist Pontiac Co. He was in business until 1982. Eyleen worked for the Waseca Journal and later Waseca Mutual Insurance. She retired in 1994.

After retirement, she and Phil enjoyed spending their winters in Texas. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served on the Quilter’s Guild for many years. She was also a long time member of Waseca Lakeside Golf Club. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing, playing cards and traveling.

Eyleen is survived by her two children, Gary (special friend Denise Spies) and Nancy (David) Ross all of Waseca; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, and one nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
