Her family later moved to Faribault and she graduated with the Faribault High School class of 1930. On December 10, 1938, Evelyn married Waldo Edison Broberg in Minneapolis. They had two sons Theodore Waldo and Carl Richard William. Evelyn attended the Seabury/Johnson Hall School for nurses training and later worked for the Dr''s. Haessly, Traeger, and Nuetzman in their Central Clinic. She also spent the major portion of her working life with Dentists R.M. Reed and H.M. Sauer. Evelyn also worked at her husband''s company the Waldo Broberg Feed and Seed. Evelyn loved life, her family, house and friends. She delighted in opportunities to entertain guests and visitors in her home, especially around holidays and other special events. Evelyn was a fine cook in general, but all of her guests knew her for her cookies and coffee. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all have warm memories of experiencing Evelyn making and baking dozens of cookies as they observed from their perch on the red stool in the kitchen. She enjoyed gardening, bicycling, swimming, fishing, being out in nature, and stories. In her younger days, Evelyn enjoyed figure skating, high school track (held the FHS girls high jump record for many years), kitten ball and delighted in scarves, and hats. She was fond of jokes and of quoting sayings, and bits of folk lore. Evelyn also had a keen sense of humor which persisted to the very end of her life. She was an active member of the Congregational UCC Church, where she participated on many boards and committees, was a 50 year member of the choir. Evelyn was also a long time member of the Eastern Star. The family would like to thank St. Lucas Care Center for the excellent care given to their mother. She is survived by sons Theodore "Ted" (Jo Anne) Broberg of New Brighton, MN and Carl (Susan)
