Eva Elaine Rollins was born on October 14, 1925 to Charles and Eva (Frederick) Hoehn in Madison Lake. At age three, Eva suffered from polio which caused a lifelong disability that never slowed her down. She attended All Saints Catholic School through 8th Grade, and she continued her education at Gillettes Children Hospital in Minneapolis where she was treated for complications as a result of polio. After leaving school she began working as a housekeeper for families in the area as a way to help her family.
On her birthday, October 14, 1948, Eva was united in marriage to Willard Curtis Rollins at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. Their marriage was blessed with 6 children. They lived and raised their family in rural Pemberton. They shared 28 years of marriage together, prior to Willards death on October 31, 1976. Eva continued to live on the farm in rural Pemberton with her sons, Sam and Michael. In March of 2015, when Eva needed more assistance with her daily care, she moved into the Mapleton Community Home where she was very active in the various activities that are offered at the Community Home.
Eva was a woman of faith. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she attended weekly Mass, she was active in the church quilting group, and helped clean the church for many years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning her produce. Eva also enjoyed reading and watching her stories on TV. She liked going to Minnesota Twins games, but more importantly cherished going and spending time with her family. Throughout her life she faced many hardships but always continued to preserver. Her children will always remember their mom as a strong and faithful woman.
She is survived by six children: Sam of rural Pemberton, Martha "Marti" (Harry T "HTom" Trites Jr.) Rollins of Eagan, David of Waseca, Michael of Rural Pemberton, Juliana (Timothy) Haen of Eveleth and Sheila (Juan) Mora of Inver Grove Heights; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Elisabeth (John Rent) Haen and their son, Russell, Chris Mora, Catherine (Alex) Milberger and their daughter, Emma, Derrick Mora, Thomas Haen and Anne Haen; brother, Joseph (Carol) Hoehn of Shakopee; sister, Anita Gostomczik of Waseca; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven children in infancy and two brothers Claver and Calvin.
