Elizabeth A. (Meister) Roehrich, age 80, of Faribault, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Mountain View Hospital in Apache Junction, AZ, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour in Faribault with The Very Rev. James Zotalis, Dean of The Cathedral officiating. Interment will be held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the funeral home on Tuesday for one hour prior to services. The family prefers that memorials be directed to The Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour. Elizabeth Ann Meister, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Scuer) Meister, was born on June 21, 1928 in Austin, MN. She attended Austin High School and graduated with the class of 1946. After high school Liz attended Austin Junior College for two years. On July 11, 1948 she was united in marriage to Carlyle Roehrich in Austin, MN. Liz worked first at Andrews Nursery for many years until she began a secretarial job with the Faribault School District which she retired from several years later. Elizabeth was a devoted Christian and active member of the Episcopal Cathedral, participating in choir and guild. She had a passion for singing which included being a member of Sweet Adelines for over 40 years. She also enjoyed creating artwork and sharing it freely with all family and friends. Liz is survived by her husband Carlyle Roehrich of Faribault; by her three children, Carla (William) Laws of Mesa, AZ, Will Roehrich of Faribault and Jeff (Carmia) Roehrich of Rapid City, SD; by six grandchildren, Todd Young, Jim Abrahamsson, Chad Young, Jennifer Steele, Sasha and Jared Roehrich; by eight great grandchildren, Maya, Leah, Zoe, Lila, Ethan, Catlyn, Carlyle and Dean; by her brother, Charles Meister of Coco Beach, FL; by four sisters, Barbara Baumgartner of Sliddel, LA, Helen (George) Bucklin of Albert Lea, MN, Mary Jo Nolan of Austin, MN and Suzanne (Gary) Bailey of Longmont, CO and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Elizabeth was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She loved, cherished and was totally devoted to her husband Lyle for over 60 years.
