Elizabeth Pemble November 12, 1920 - February 12, 2010

Elizabeth (Sharp) Pemble, age 89 of Smiths Mill, died on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Laurel''s Edge in Mankato. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill with Rev. Keith Bilitz, officiating. Interment will be in the Smiths Mill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home of Janesville, and will continue Tuesday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church of Smiths Mill, or donor''s choice. Elizabeth Ann was born on November 12, 1920 in LeRay Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota to John and Amelia (Anderson) Sharp. She was a graduate of Janesville High School. She married Chester W. "Bud" Pemble on August 30, 1940. Elizabeth and Bud lived their entire married life in the Smiths Mill area. She was a longtime member of the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church where she was very active in Ladies Aid, and taught Sunday school. Elizabeth enjoyed traveling, sewing, gardening and photography. She is survived by her children, Roy Pemble of Smiths Mill, Joan Rigdon of Mankato, John (Lynnell) Pemble of rural Smiths Mill, and Joyce (Randy) Meyer of rural Canby; by her grandchildren, Russ (Linda) Rigdon of Mankato, Jeanine (Steve) Casey of Chanhassen, Christy (Dave) Rietz of Huxley, IA, Anita (Ken) Rigdon of Mapleton, Ryan (Michelle) Pemble of Eagle Lake, Jackie Pemble of Janesville, Ray Pemble of Ellsworth Air Force Base, Rapid City, SD, Julia (Vince) Eberhart of Brookings, SD, Elizabeth Meyer and Bryon Meyer both of Canby; by her 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud on August 20, 1989; by her parents; by her sister Marion Potz and her brother Donald Sharp; by her son-in-law Patrick Rigdon. Casket bearers are: Russ Rigdon, Ryan Pemble, Ray Pemble, Bryon Meyer, Steve Casey, Ken Rigdon, Vince Eberhart, and Josh Schweim.
