Elizabeth Kaune November 13, 1918 - September 21, 2010

Elizabeth Marie Kaune, age 91, of Faribault and formerly of rural Blooming Prairie, died on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at her son''s home in Faribault. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Litomysl, MN, with Fr. Andrew Vogel, officiating. Interment will be at Holy Trinity Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Elizabeth Marie Wencl, the daughter of Alois and Mary (Mikyska) Wencl, was born on November 13, 1918 in Blooming Prairie, MN. She attended Blooming Prairie Country School and graduated in 1932. On June 24, 1943, she married Fred A. Kaune at the Holy Trinity Church in Litomysl, MN. Together they farmed north of Blooming Prairie where they raised their two sons. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1971. After Fred''s death, she cleaned houses for others. Elizabeth enjoyed playing Scrabble, making Sock Monkeys and cross stitch towels for family and friends. She also truly enjoyed spending time with her family. Through the years she has been involved in different aspects of church. Elizabeth was a very strong willed and independent woman. A special thank you to the Hospice nurses, volunteers, and Leonard and Gerry Valek for all their love and care that allowed her to stay home where she wanted to be. Elizabeth is survived by her sons, David Kaune and John (Carol) Kaune, both of Faribault; grandchildren, Esther (Jim) Luedtke of Eden Prairie, Michelle Kaune, Robin (Todd) Dalby, and Jessica Kaune, all of Faribault, and Anthony (and fiance Jennifer Marlow) Kaune of Dallas, TX; great grandchildren, Angela, Michael and Leonard Dalby, Heather Kaune, and Destiny Quast; brothers, Alphonse Wencl of Medford and Ludwig (Julaine) Wencl of Owatonna; sisters-in-law, Magdalen Wencl of Blooming Prairie, and Mary Wencl of Wilmington, DE; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; parents, Alois and Mary (Mikyska) Wencl; parents-in-law, William and Grace (Hindle) Kaune; brothers, Ray and Albert Wencl; sisters, Lillian Terpstra and Marie (Myron) Pirkl; and sisters-in-law, Agnes Wencl, Ruth (Ernest) Pechacek, and Ruby Ward. Memorials may be directed to Faribault Area Hospice or the choice of the donor in memory of Elizabeth.
