Elaine D. (Sonnek) Huxford, age 77 of Waseca, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Traditions of Owatonna. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 27th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church in Waldorf with Fr. Peter Klein and Fr. Clayton Haberman, concelebrants. Interment will be in the St. Joseph''s Community Cemetery, Waldorf. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Waseca, and will continue on Monday morning for one hour prior to services at church. Elaine Dorothy was born on May 11, 1934 in Wells, Minnesota to Joseph and Agnes (Cegla) Sonnek. Elaine was a graduate of Wells High School. She was united in marriage to Ralph D. Huxford at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Elaine and Ralph raised their family and resided in Waldorf most of their married life. Following Ralph''s retirement in 1994, they moved to Waseca. Elaine was a long time, active member of St. Joseph''s Catholic Church in Waldorf. During her years in Waseca she has belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was an avid bridge player, and her and Ralph enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad. Elaine had a strong faith, and loved time spent with her family. She was famous for her Sunday morning family brunch. She is survived by her husband Ralph of Waseca; by her children, Kim (Lisa) Huxford of rural Waseca, Patti (Jim) Hulwi of Mankato, Todd (Meleah) Huxford of Janesville, Jeffrey (Michelle) Huxford of Owatonna, Beth (Michael) Hintz of Waseca, Cari (Lon) Lindeland of Chaska, and Mary Jo Krause of Waseca; by 30 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; by her sisters, Olive Hefner and Alice Feurehelm, both of Albert Lea, and her brother George (Pat) Sonnek of Wells; by her sisters-in-law Bernice Sonnek, Vicky Sonnek, and Marian Sonnek, all of Wells; by her son-in-law Lac Lindeland of rural Waldorf; by many nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her daughter Lynn Lindeland; by her 4 brothers and 1 sister. Casketbearers are Elain's grandsons: Logan Huxford, Nicholas Hulwi, Lucas Lindeland, Erik Huxford, Ian Huxford, William Hintz, Alex Lindeland, and Justin Krause.
