EILEEN ANN MORGAN, age 92 of Janesville died on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Whispering Creek in Janesville.
Born on August 28, 1931, in Waseca, Minnesota, she was the daughter of George and Goldie (Armstrong) Berry. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1949 where she was crowned Homecoming Queen. She went on to attend Mankato Commercial College. Eileen married James Morgan on February 6, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church in Waseca County. Following their marriage, they lived in Arkansas for a short time while James was in the service before returning to Minnesota where they lived and farmed in Iosco Township. Eileen also worked at Preuss’ Bakery in Waseca and later worked at the Janesville Nursing Home and Lake Shore Inn in Waseca in the dietary department. She also was a cook in the Waterville Schools. Eileen enjoyed baking, cooking, tending her gardens, and sewing. She especially enjoyed entering her various canned and baked goods in the local county fair. Eileen was a long time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville, Catholic Daughters, and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by four children, Patrick (Angel) Morgan of Janesville, Keith (Lori) Morgan of Janesville, Jane (Mark) Vortherms of Avon, and Dean (Barb) Morgan of New Richland; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Helen Berry of Altura and Therese Berry of Minnesota Lake; brother-in-law, Joe (Kathy) Morgan of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, James and Roland Berry; and infant great-granddaughter, Ada Lloyd.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 4-7 PM with a 7:00 PM Catholic Daughters rosary at the Waterville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville. Burial will follow at St. Jarlath Cemetery in Iosco Township, Waseca County.
