EDWARD LEO WHEELOCK, of Janesville, died unexpectedly on October 4, 2024, at the age of 60. 

Born on September 6, 1964, he was the youngest child born to William and Theresa (Klug) Wheelock. Ed attended Janesville Public Schools where he participated in football and wrestling, graduating with the class of 1983. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota in Waseca. Throughout his career, Ed worked for Associated Lumber in Waseca before relocating to Windom, where he worked for Lamperts Lumber. He later drove truck for Tow Distributing and worked for Taylor Corp while working construction alongside his brother Mike which he continued for many years. Most recently, he served as a school bus driver for Palmer Bus Services. 

On April 24, 2008, Ed was united in marriage to DeAnna Hooppaw and together they made their home in Janesville where they welcomed their son, Jason, into their blended family. Ed was proud of being a part of his high school wrestling team who was recently inducted into the JWP Athletic Hall of Fame. Always staying busy, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping out his kids with their home projects. His family will remember Ed as the most loving husband, dad and grandpa. He will be missed!

Ed is survived by his wife of 16 years, DeAnna of Janesville; children: Troy Wheelock of Mankato, Jessica (Adam) Ritter of Waterville, Andrew (Rosita) Wheelock of Faribault, Matthew Wheelock (Hailey Blom) of Janesville, Jason Wheelock of Janesville, Patrick Tarrant of Janesville, and Abby Tarrant of Chicago; grandchildren: Nicholas, Ethan, Carter, Parker, Reese, Kalie, Olivia, Mason, Willow, and Levi; siblings: Dave (Karen) Wheelock, Gary Wheelock, Bruce (Martha) Wheelock, Keith (Gwen) Wheelock, and Betty (Chris) Schmidt; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike; nephews, Dave and Dan Wheelock. 

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service. 

Private family services will be held.
