Edna Mae Webster, age 95, of Owatonna, formerly of Waterville, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Traditions of Owatonna.
Born on July 20, 1924 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Edna Mae was the daughter of LeRoy and Edna Mary (Hoffer) Waughtel. She graduated from elementary school in south Minneapolis and graduated from West High School in Minneapolis in 1942. Following high school she was employed at a photo lab in Minneapolis and later at a nursing home in south Minneapolis. Edna married Cornelies VanDenBerg June 19, 1946 in Minneapolis; they were later divorced. Together they had three children, Bruce, Valerie and Brad.
On December 11, 1963, Edna married Jack Webster of Waterville. She was a homemaker and provided childcare out of their home for several years. She also worked part-time at the Lake Region Life newspaper in Waterville which she and Jack owned. They lived in Waterville until May of 2016 when she entered Traditions of Owatonna assisted living facility, where she resided until her death. Together they had one daughter, Robin.
Edna enjoyed traveling, reading, dining out with friends, keeping an immaculate house and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edna is survived by her husband Jack of Waseca; two sons, Bruce (Bonnie) VanDenBerg and Brad (Pam) VanDenBerg, both of Colorado; two daughters, Valerie VanDenBerg of Mankato and Robin Webster of Henderson, NV; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Waterville Lions Club, the American Diabetes Foundation or the United Methodist Church of Waterville.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
