EDNA A. MORRIS, age 91 of Waterville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
Born on February 7, 1925 at home in Waterville, she was the daughter of William and Minnie (Preuss) Sorgatz.  She was baptized on March 8, 1925 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville and confirmed on April 10, 1938 at Trinity Lutheran Church-North Morristown.  Edna married Melvin Morris on January 27, 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Morristown followed by a small reception at her parents home in rural Waterville.   Prior to getting married, Edna candled eggs at Backmans Hatchery in Waterville.  She later cleaned various homes and businesses in the area and worked at Livingood Bakery in Waterville prior to her stroke.   Edna had a strong faith and loved spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed collecting antiques, going to flea markets and thrift stores.   She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Womens Society.
She is survived by six children, Dennis (Ellen) Morris of Waterville, Gene (Karen) Morris of Waterville, Sharon Hansen of Waseca, Pamela (Michael) Gentle of Waseca, Brenda Morris of Waterville and Karla Meier of Waterville; seven grandchildren, Trent (Carrie) Morris of Waseca, Ryan (Sonya) Morris of Duluth, Jeffrey Morris of Minneapolis, Mark Morris of Waseca, Nicholas Gentle of Richfield, Robyn Hansen of Waseca, and Greg Gentle of Austin; and eight great grandchildren, Daniel, Cole, Tyler, Madelyn, Andrew, Emily, Abigail and Ashley Morris.  Edna is also survived by two brothers, Arthur (Nancy) Sorgatz of Waterville and Delmer (Marge) Sorgatz of Elkton; aunt, Ann Wegner of Morristown; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Alvin Tolzman. 
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville with Rev. David Mumme officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, one hour before services at the church. Burial will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
