Duane F. Bokman Sr., age 80, of Faribault, died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Drive) in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday morning. The members of Moose Lodge 2098 of Faribault will conduct a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening. Duane Francis Bokman Sr., the son of Leonard and Laura (Bushey) Bokman was born on October 15, 1930 in Faribault. He attended Sacred Heart grade school and the Faribault High School, but prior to graduating he signed to join the U.S. Army at the age of 16. Duane served during the Korean War from 1948 until he received an honorable discharge in 1952. On April 11, 1953, Duane was united in marriage to Marion Reuvers at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. She later preceded him in death on May 30, 1993. Duane worked in general construction for many years at various places including: Heselton''s, McQuay''s and later retired in 1995 from Earl Manufacturing in Lakeville. He was a member of the VFW Post 1562, Eagle''s Club 1460, American Legion Post 43 all in Faribault and also at the Moose Lodge 2098 where he served as Governor from 1982-1983 and was awarded the Degree of Fellow award in 2007 for his dedication. Duane enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, grandchildren and friends. He is survived by his four children, Duane (Jean) Bokman Jr. of Faribault, Debbie (John) Timmers of Faribault, Linda (Wayne) Mueller of Faribault and Sandy Nichols (Mark Paddock) of St. Cloud; his nine grandchildren, Ranae Knott, DJ (Tina) Bokman, Garret (Jessica) Bokman, Matthew Timmers, Nicole (Dave) Barnett, Erica (John) Feyereisn, Dave Mueller, Heidi Nichols (Ryan Westberg) and Charles (Abigail) Nichols; his 11 great grandchildren; his sister Virginia Marek of Sun City, AZ; his sisters-in-law, Helen Hanegraaf, Arlene Reuvers, Gloria Reuvers all of Faribault, Patricia Neuman of Rochester, Lois Butterfield of West Concord and Sandra Reuvers of Willmar and by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marion and by his brothers-in-law Robert Reuvers, Ronald Reuvers, Richard Reuvers and John Marek.
