Douglas Jon Leet

DOUGLAS JON LEET, age 76, of Waseca, passed away in the early morning of February 8th, 2025. Despite battling health problems for years, Doug maintained positivity, a sharp wit, and a great outlook on life. He found joy in numerous pursuits including fishing, watching grandchildren’s activities, card games with family, and time with friends.

Doug was born on March 15, 1948 to Leslie and Lorraine Leet in Fairmont, MN. He grew up on his family farm with his parents and brother (Bob Leet). He graduated from Granada High School where he played football. Doug then attended college at Mankato State University. After college he married his high school sweetheart, Judi Brockmann, on August 22, 1970 and then went into the Navy. His military service started in 1971 in California, after which he continued military duty in Florida, where he and Judi lived until 1975. They then moved to Minnesota where they have spent the remainder of their time together. He worked a majority of his career partnering with farmers through agricultural lending with ASCS, followed by Roundbank in 2003.

Doug was adept at building meaningful relationships with anybody. He will be deeply missed by his children (Kristi, Corey, and Megan), 10 grandchildren, and many, many friends. Most of all, his life was blessed with one true love, Judi Leet. She was his best friend, companion, and greatest love. They spent their life traveling, fostering friendships, spending time at the lake house, and cheering on their children and grandchildren through life’s many events. Doug was simply one of the best. 

Memorial Service for Doug will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at First Congregational Church in Waseca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial for Doug will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Waseca Area Foundation.
