DOROTHY G. RUTT, age 81 of Waseca died on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.

Born on September 10, 1938 in St. Clair, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Otto and Edna (Schoenfeld) Grams. She graduated from St. Clair High School in 1957. Following her education, she worked as a telephone operator in Mankato. In 1958, Dorothy married Eddie Rutt. She worked in sales for Nordaas American Homes in Minnesota Lake, but for many years she worked alongside her husband, Eddie selling and building homes. They lived in Minnesota Lake, Eagle Lake, and Janesville before making their home in rural Waseca. She enjoyed gardening and caring for her horse, Amigo. She was also manager of Valley Creek Ranch. Dorothy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and especially her great-grandson Beckham. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton and the American Legion Auxiliary in Waseca.

She is survived by her two daughters, Terri Lee (Rick) Zirbes of Prior Lake and Trisi Lee of California; step-children, Vicky (Allen) Kretzschmar of Waterville and Rev. Dr. Douglas (Deborah) Rutt of Missouri; grandchildren, Ezra Zirbes, Izaiah Zirbes, Izabella Zirbes, Tyler (Dani) Klugherz, Tanner Klugherz, Tiara Lee Klugherz, and Trevor Lee Nguyen; one great-grandson, Beckham Aguilar; step-grandchildren, Michele (Joe) Grose, Scot (Connie) Kretzschmar, Becky (Anthony) Schulz, Sarah (Jonathan) Williams, Aaron (Leslie) Rutt, Christa (Peter) Kileff, and Mical (Robert) Hilbert; and 22 step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Meyer of Waldorf; her brother, Alvin (Barbara) Grams of Janesville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph “Eddie” Rutt; sister, Anita Meyer; and brother, Karl Grams.

Private family services are being held at Trinity Lutheran Church - Wilton Township, Waseca County with Rev. Larry Sipe officiating. Due to unprecedented community health concerns, the family encourages home viewing of the webcast of Dorothy’s funeral service, which will be made available to the public on the dennisfuneralhomes.com webpage on Friday. Interment will take place in St. John's Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township, Waseca County. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
