Doris Thomas July 26, 1918 - December 30, 2011

Doris A. Thomas, age 93 of Waseca, died on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Lake Shore Inn of Waseca. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Waseca with Rev. Del Begalka, officiating. Interment will be in the Lyra Township Cemetery, Blue Earth County. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Waseca. Memorials preferred to the Minnesota-North Dakota Alzheimer''s Association. Doris Arlin was born on July 26, 1918 in Good Thunder, Minnesota to Otto and Helma (Stavenau) Possin. Doris graduated from Good Thunder High School. On April 18, 1941 she was united in marriage to Edward Reese Thomas in Mankato, Minnesota. Doris and Edward raised their family in the Pemberton area. Over the years Doris worked as a retail clerk for Sears, Kmart, and Walgreens, all in Mankato. In 1975 Doris and Edward retired to Alexandria, Minnesota. Following her husband''s death in 2001, Doris continued to reside in Alexandria until returning to Mankato in 2004. She enjoyed embroidery, playing cards and gardening. Doris loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Duchene of Hopkins, Suzann Thomas of Eden Prairie, and Dawn (Terrell) Quiram of Waseca; by her five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward on September 2, 2001, her parents and her brother Armin Possin.
