Doris Flicek November 30, 1916 - October 3, 2011

Doris "Dolly" Flicek, age 94, of Faribault, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at the District One Hospital in Faribault following a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Drive) in Faribault on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday morning. Doris Lucile Felix, the daughter of Adalphus and Caroline (Bonnie) Felix, was born on November 30, 1916 in Shieldsville, Minnesota. On July 22, 1935, Dolly was united in marriage to William "Bill" Flicek at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. In her earlier years, Dolly was a homemaker and raised her children and later worked with her husband as a cheese maker and on a dairy farm in Pine Island. They later moved to Faribault in 1957 where Dolly became a housekeeper for twenty years. Bill later preceded her in death on March 2, 2003. She always enjoyed her growing family, her faithful dog Taffy, baking- especially tasty treats and homemade bread and was a devoted member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, James (JoAnn) Flicek and Carole Schmidt, both of Faribault; her seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill in 2003 and by four brothers and four sisters.
