Doris F. Van Thomme December 13, 1930 - April 19, 2016

Doris F. Van Thomme, age 85, of Faribault, MN, passed away April 19, 2016, at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield, MN, following a brief illness.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church. There will be no reviewal at the church.

Doris Frances was born on December 13, 1930, in LaCrosse, WI, to Fred and Luella (Holtze) Churchill. She was married to Earl Van Thomme on September 26, 1953 in LaCrosse, where they resided for many years. In 1968, they moved to Faribault. Earl preceded her in death on June 2, 1984. In addition to raising her family, Doris worked at Northern Plastic, then at Genova for over 35 years until her retirement. She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, cooking, word search puzzles, and caring for her grandchildren.

She is survived by five children, Judy (Doug) Hornick of Buffalo, MN, Janet (Robert) Breyer, James Van Thomme, and Jeff Van Thomme, all of Faribault, and Joan (Mark) Allen of Shakopee; grandchildren, William (Cindy), David (Susan), Stephanie (Alex), Amber, Corey (Cindy), and Crystal; great grandchildren, Joseph, Blayze, Andy, and Sam; brother, Richard Churchill of Rosemount, MN; sister-in-law, Phyllis Borchert of Faribault; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; parents, Fred and Luella; son, John Van Thomme; infant son, Jesse; three sisters, Beverly Butterfield, Bonnie Burrough, and Janet (Pumpkin) Hendricks; and brother, Fred (Sonny) Churchill Jr.
